A bubble diffuser is an aeration device typically installed at the bottom of a water tank to release air or oxygen in the form of bubbles. • Aeration: It forces air through a membrane or porous material (like ceramic or stone) to create bubbles that rise through the liquid.
• Oxygen Transfer: As bubbles rise, oxygen is transferred from the air into the water. Smaller bubbles provide a higher Standard Oxygen Transfer Efficiency (SOTE) because they have a larger total surface area and rise more slowly.
• Mixing: The movement of rising bubbles helps mix the water, keeping solids suspended and preventing sludge buildup at the bottom.
